Our History

In 1982, Mr. Rick Hawkins acquired Garza-Hawkins Funeral Home, located on S. Illinois Ave. across the street from the Weslaco City Cemetery. He served families there until 1992.

In 1992, Rick Hawkins and Irma Hawkins decided to build the current facility at 2222 E. Hwy 83 in Weslaco. In 2004, they continued the tradition of excellence by opening a second location at 501 N. D. Salinas Blvd., in Donna.

On December 14, 2012, the founder of Hawkins Funeral Homes, Richard C. Hawkins, passed away. Mrs. Irma S. Hawkins and Priscilla Hawkins continue to carry out Mr. Hawkins' legacy and tradition of serving the families of the community.

Hawkins Funeral Home strives to provide excellent service and understands that each family is unique. They will continue serving the Rio Grande Valley and offering services to families in their time of need.
