Donna - Daniel P. Torres, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel P. Torres, 80, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The family is grateful for the support during this difficult time and has entrusted Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna with the funeral arrangements. 

Daniel is lovingly remembered by his children, Martin, Danny Jr., and Belinda, as well as his six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Josie Torres, whose memory continues to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Also by his parents, Perfecto and Maria Torres, and siblings: Luis, Simon, Carmen, San Juanita, Jesus, and Anastasio.

He is survived by his devoted sister, Margarita Guajardo. 

Daniel attended Edcouch-Elsa schools and dedicated 30 years of his life to Groce Wearden Co. in Donna. Even after retiring, he remained a humble and devoted family man, cherishing his wife and children above all.
