Donna - Maria Luisa Flores, 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at her residence in Donna, TX. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Maria L. Flores, a woman whose heart knew no boundaries when it came to love and devotion, peacefully passed away at her Donna home on January 20, 2026, at the age of 92.

Born in Donna, Texas, on November 10, 1933, Maria's life was a beautiful act of dedication of unwavering love to her family.

On April 10, 1966, Maria began a new chapter when she married Aurelio Flores, embarking on a partnership built on love and mutual respect. Together, they welcomed two daughters, Carmelita and Michelle, who became the center of Maria's world and the recipients of her boundless affection.

Maria's defining characteristic was her generous spirit—the word "no" simply didn't exist in her vocabulary when it came to those she loved. Her strong convictions and whole-hearted approach to life guided every decision she made, always placing her family's needs and happiness above her own.

As a grandmother, Maria found perhaps her greatest joy. She delighted in lovingly caring for and spoiling her grandchildren Austin and Alexis, creating countless precious memories and a very special bond that will be treasured for generations to come. She was the queen of her Donna home and Austin and Alexis were her Prince and Princess.

Maria's legacy lives on through the values she instilled in her children and grandchildren: the importance of family, the power of unconditional love, and the beauty of a life lived with purpose and devotion. Her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her.

Maria was predeceased in death by her mother, Carmen Gonzales, brother, Guadalupe Lopez, Sr., husband Aurelio Flores, and daughter Carmelita Hernandez.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Michelle Flores-Rieniets, sons-in-law Lee Rieniets and Oscar Hernandez, grandchildren Austin and Alexis Rieniets, and sister Maria Elena Lopez.

A celebration of Maria's extraordinary life will bring together family and friends to honor a woman who gave everything she had to those she loved most.
