Our History

Garza-Hawkins Funeral Home was established in 1982 by Rick Hawkins. The first facility was on S. Illinois Ave. across the street from the Weslaco City Cemetery where he served families until 1992.  In 1992 Rick Hawkins & Irma Hawkins decided to build its current facility which is located at 2222 E. Hwy 83 in Weslaco.

In 2004 Rick Hawkins & Irma Hawkins decided to continue the tradition of excellence in a newer facility at 501 N. D. Salinas Blvd., in Donna, which is now our second location.

On December 14, 2012, the founder of Hawkins Funeral Homes, Richard C. Hawkins passed away. Mrs. Irma S. Hawkins & Priscilla Hawkins continue to carry out Mr. Hawkins' legacy and tradition of serving the families of the community.

Hawkins Funeral Home strives to provide excellent service and understands that each family is unique. We will continue serving the Rio Grande Valley and offer services to the families at their time of need.
